The Silver Flying Fox has a silver body with smooth texture added by dark-edged scales. In addition, they lack the horizontal stripe present on the majority of other algae eaters and have a black patch at the base of their tail. Their distinctive appearance is further enhanced by the translucent yellow tinting on their fins.
