Otopharynx tetrastigma is a species of cichlid fish endemic to Lake Malawi in East Africa. This species can reach up to 15 cm in length and is known for its vibrant coloration, with males displaying a striking blue-green body adorned with four prominent dark spots along the sides. Females are typically more subdued in color, often exhibiting a brownish hue. Otopharynx tetrastigma inhabits rocky and sandy areas of the lake and is a maternal mouthbrooder, with females carrying and protecting their eggs and fry in their mouths until they are ready to swim independently.
