This discus grows to 20 cm, with a wide, disc shape. Moreover, it lives 8–12 years under optimal care. Thus, high temperatures and clean water ensure longevity. Regular checks keep it thriving.

Ideal Tank Setup

The discus prospers in a 200-litre tank with weak flow and soft sediment. Furthermore, plants and driftwood offer shade and safety. Its broad body avoids currents, so use spray bars and safe vertical wood.

• To replicate its natural habitat:
• Add Amazon swords for oxygen supply.
• Position driftwood to diffuse flow.
• Choose fine sand substrate for foraging.
• Fit a quality heater for 28–31°C.
